The NSF-ATE: Partnership for Advanced Marine and Environmental Science Training for Pacific Islanders provides funding for the purchase of technology for marine & environmental science labs. Professional development as it relates to marine & environmental sciences. As well as internship experience for NMC students in the marine & environmental sciences at, but not limited to the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality (BECQ), Johnston Applied Marine Sciences (JAMS), & Koa Consulting LLC. The goal of the program is to improve scientific and technological education for undergraduate students and prepare them for STEM positions and careers. - USDA-NIFA
Through funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Distance Education Grants (DEG) Program for Institutions of Higher Education in Insular Areas, NMC has developed and currently offers Food and Agriculture Science courses online. The online courses expose students (including those on the islands of Rota and Tinian) to food and agriculture sciences by providing the option to enroll in online food and agriculture science courses while achieving college credit. Additionally, the courses may provide a gateway for students interested in pursuing a future career in food and agriculture science.
