Overview

About this Position

The Program Coordinator reports to the CREES Agriculture Production Program Leader and to the CREES Interim Dean. The employee coordinates activities with farmers and other stakeholders related to Western Sustainable Agriculture, Research and Extension (WSARE), Hatch, and other projects. Activities include but are not limited to participating in grant proposals, assisting in data collection, organizing meetings, preparing reports, and performing miscellaneous tasks such as data entry, document sorting, and online research. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Program Coordinator I: 
    • Associates Degree from a U.S. Department of Education recognized and accredited institution plus two (2) years of work experience in project management, office management, administrative/clerical work, data analysis, budgeting, or related field.

  • Program Coordinator II: 
    • Associate’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education recognized and accredited institution plus thirty (30) college credits towards a Bachelor’s degree and 2 (two) years of work experience in project management, office management, administrative/clerical work, data analysis, budgeting, or related field.

  • Program Coordinator III: 
    • Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education recognized and accredited institution plus three (3) years of work experience in project management, office management, administrative/clerical work, data analysis, budgeting, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Contributes and promotes a positive and professional working environment and relationship with the college community and promotes a positive representation of CREES and NMC.
  • Must have strong computer background including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, and database, preferably Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications. 
  • Able to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and other college stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. 
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while maintaining composure under stressful conditions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in Program Review and Outcome Assessment (PROA) activities.
  • Engages with the Kagman Agricultural Farms and Producers Association (KAFPA), CNMI Department of Lands and Natural Resources, the CREES Agroforestry Program, the private sector, and other organizations in Rota, Saipan, and Tinian.
  • Coordinates focus groups, workshops, demonstrations, and trainings.
  • Works on schedules for meetings and appointments.
  • Organizes mid-term and final evaluations including output and outcome assessment.
  • Assists in responding to information requests from stakeholders.
  • Participates in procuring quotations from vendors and developing purchase order requests for project inputs and other items.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external regulations to comply with local and federal policies.
  • Participates in in-service training programs as required, as well as frequent travel interisland during specified periods of time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Essential Functions of the Position

Must be able to frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The individual in this position will frequently communicate with students and their colleague(s) in order to exchange information in various situations. Occasionally lifts office products and supplies, weighing up to 15 Ibs.
