The Associated Students of Northern Marianas College or ASNMC will host three town hall meetings to ask the candidates for governor and lt. governor about issues relating to the economy, environment, healthcare, workforce development, and education.
The candidates are Democratic Rep. Christina “Tina” Sablan and her running mate Rep. Leila F. Staffler; Independent Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and running mate Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang; and Republican Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and running mate Senate Floor Leader Vinnie F. Sablan.
The first town hall meeting will feature the Democratic tandem and will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022.
The Independents will be featured on Tuesday, Oct. 18 while the Republicans will be featured on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Each tandem will be asked 11 questions that were compiled by ASNMC based on an NMC-wide survey conducted in September.
Moderators for the town hall meetings will be NMC Language and Humanities Assistant Professor Adam Walsh and NMC School of Education Associate Professor Dr. Beylul Solomon. All town hall meetings will take place at the American Memorial Park museum theater at 6 p.m.
While the town hall meetings will be limited to NMC students and employees and candidates' supporters, interested community members can view the live stream of each meeting on the College's Facebook page at facebook.com/nmc.proa.
Proceeds from the town hall meetings will go to NMC’s student organizations. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
