Students and parents on Tinian and Rota who need assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are invited to register for Northern Marianas College’s Free FAFSA Workshop at the NMC Rota Center, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, and at the NMC Tinian Center Room D on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
By filling out the FAFSA form, students can receive up to $7,395 in federal financial aid for college.
Seats are limited and attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop if they have one. However, laptops and other devices will be made available to facilitate the application process. Incentives will be given out to those who successfully complete their FAFSA forms. Students, parents, and others who plan to attend the workshop must register here: https://bit.ly/4eUJRqn
The free FAFSA workshop on Tinian and Rota will have a session for students from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a session for parents from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Interested students and parents must create their Federal Student Aid (FSA) IDs (FAFSA accounts) prior to the workshop to complete the verification process. To create an FSA ID, visit www.studentaid.gov and click “Create Account.” This will require personal information, the creation of a username and password, security questions, and contact information verification. Students and parents must have a separate FSA ID and are encouraged to keep their information safe as the NMC Financial Aid Office does not have access to account recovery.
Participants are encouraged to bring documents such as valid identification (passport or birth certificate), copies of their high school diploma, copies of official transcripts, and tax return information for the year 2022 to complete their application.
